announcing: the list

What it is: this is simple. The List is a project wherein we ask people to write lists for us. This sounds straightforward because it is. A contributor fills out a very brief questionnaire, writes one to three lists on the subject of their choosing, and sends these to us, along with an optional photo.

How to participate: this is also simple. Simply email to us the completed questionnaire, your one to three lists, and your photo, if you choose to include one. Please use your common sense in determining what is appropriate! If everything checks out, your contribution will be added to the posting queue and we will be sure to drop you a line to let you know.

The questionnaire: everybody is asked to provide some semblance of an answer to each of the following questions.

Real name:
Age:
Hometown (may be defined as either "town where you are from" or "town that is currently home"):
Self-describing adjective:
What you want to be when you grow up:

The lists: as mentioned, each list may be about anything you like, from the banal to the exotic, from the broad to the specific. Each list may be as long as you like, although we ask that you not get carried away. We have listed some sample topics below.

15 favorite things to do in New York • 15 good songs to listen to in the bath • 8 reasons to go to a coffeeshop • 5 books that are extremely underrated • 10 favorite fictional characters • 10 most creative justifications for getting drunk • 10 favorite cartoons • 6 best opening lines in literature • 10 unpopular beliefs I hold • 8 villains I identify with • 10 incredible actors • 15 favorite historical figures • 17 unbelievably cool people I know

The optional photo: if you choose to submit something visual, it can be a headshot or a candid, so long as it is a nice and presentable photo; if you would prefer not to send a photo of yourself but still would like to send an image, you are welcome to submit an image of artwork, e.g. some other photograph or a drawing, so long as it is your own.

Submit your contribution: email your questionnaire responses, lists, and (optional) photo to editor@goodprattle.com and we will let you know if everything is in order!
